Bernice who is a triple gold medalist in the 2010 Asian Youth Tenping Bowling Championship missed the opportunity to represent Singapore in the Asian Games 2010. Bernice then channelled the disappointment on this lost opportunity to her performance in this competition where she ultimately won the title of Women's Open champion in the Singapore National Bowling Championship.

"As I did not qualify for the Asian Games women's team, this win certainly proved to show that my hard work has paid off and is definitely a confidence booster to me." Said Bernice. "My next aim is to qualify among the top 3 in the Chinese Taipei International Open next week."

Bernice had a smooth win over fellow bowler Teo Li Ying in the one-match roll-off and fnished with 204 pinfalls over Li Ying who bowled 191 pinfalls.

On the other hand, Tay Hui Chiang and Jaris Goh (student of Singapore Sports School) had to compete longer with Hui Chiang winning over Jaris in the first match with 206-175 and a tie of 181 in the second match. It was only in the ninth and tenth frame roll-off where Hui Chiang broke the tie with 43 pins over Jaris who bowled 28 pins.

"I was very nervous throughout the entire game and my coach had been trying to calm me down." Commented Hui Chiang. "All I did was to concentrate on every shot and not think of anything else."

"The training I received through SBF's National Development Squad Programme helps me to improve my game. I learnt the correct basics which is necessary for any bowler who wish to bowl well." Added Hui Chiang who is a bowler in SBF's National Development Squad Programme "AA" level.

Jaris Goh from Singapore Sports School and youth bowler Teo Li Ying were second while Vincent Lim representing ATBC and Clara Lau representing PBC were third.
