Women can do it too!

No chance to try out bowling at a bowling centre? This is not an excuse. SingaporeBowling brought out our mobile bowling lane to Toa Payoh HDB Hub on 30 & 31 October 2010 to promote bowling as one of the initiatives under Singapore Sports Council, Women & Sports Group to encourage more women to engage in sports.

In this women outreach programme, more than 1000 female participants tried out bowling over the two days on the mobile bowling lane. For those who have never tried bowling before, they received bowling tips from our youth bowlers present at the event. During the roadshow, SingaporeBowling also promoted the Learn-to-Bowl programme to encourage ladies to sign up for this bowling clinic.

Youth bowler Oriana Tay explaining the Learn-to-Bowl Programme
This programme, to be held in Jan 2011, consists of a bowling clinic where participants will learn about basic physical game and handling the spare systems at games. It will end with leisure bowling where participants get to apply the techniques through leisure bowling with the assistance of bowlers. To sign up for this programme, participants just need to get a partner (with one being a female participant) and pre-register by Jan 2011. This bowling clinic will be conducted on a weekend morning and conducted by a SBF-qualified coach.
